The Algonquin tribe got most of their food from the wild. They did grow some corn, squash and beans, as well as being excellent hunters. The Algonquin tribe also would gather berries and nuts.
There were two ways to cook. One was to simply cook over a fire, and the other was to smoke it, preserving the food (meat) for a time of famine.
